The best thing to happen to Carrara

The best thing to happen to Carrara in years has happened. Fenric has ported Thomas Luft's Ivy Generator as a plugin for Carrara. It can be downloaded from sharecg.

Getting more flight-time in on modo's SSS skin rendering.

Over at Infinite-Realities you can download a 3D head model they are distributing.

This is a modo render I did using just the model's diffuse and normal maps so far.

Followed by some other lighting situations.

Using up the rest of the old film I had.

A render from Vue Infinite so far, after reducing the poly count as best I could so I can start on the windows next.

The city of yesterday (but in the future)

I had an idea for a building (also something that will be huge) to compete for rendered CG real estate with the blimp.

I'll use 3D-Coat to UV map this building and then use Carrara to texture it.

It's a design from Hugh Ferriss.

There are waterways under freeways under sidewalks.

Blimp racing

Using a 70mm lens. I haven't decided yet on a proper bottom. Giant tank treads keep popping into my mind though.

Additional cargo space

Still working out the basic shapes here. I know for sure I'm keeping the engines.

Can I make an original scene of my own?

This will be an original design that I've had on my mind for a few days. I'm still not quite sure what path to take with it. I want to do a steampunk theme. I also want to do a far future theme.

But I may end up doing both themes eventually. My goal is to do a final render in Vue that is both threatening and envied.

Some sort of storage tower

An addition to my "Decayed Collection" I suppose.

In a nutshell, this object was modeled in Hexagon 1.21, procedurally textured in Carrara Pro 5.1, rendered in Vue Infinite 8.

Forgot to put the clouds back.
